Annual Healdsburg Arts Festival Features Contemporary Landscape Painter Laura Heinrich
California native celebrates industrial and agricultural landscapes
A collection of contemporary Northern California landscapes by artist Laura Heinrich will be on exhibit at the 2026 Healdsburg Arts Festival on Saturday, September 26, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. along Center Street in downtown Healdsburg. To mark her first appearance at the festival, the oil painter will present a curation of agricultural and industrial landscapes at Booth #17.
The exhibition focuses on overlooked working structures, revealing the hidden beauty of grain silos along Highway 5, aging buildings from the region's former naval sites, and other utilitarian forms tied to the state's agricultural and industrial history. The paintings are grounded in realism, but bold color fields and atmospheric skies shift these familiar structures toward a more graphic and contemporary register. Across the series, Heinrich finds beauty in the unexpected, focusing on color, light, scale, and geometry.
With deep familial roots in Northern California’s farming history, the subject matter is personal to Heinrich. The structures she paints are reminders of an agricultural past that continues to shape the region. Bringing a modern perspective to working landscapes, she balances history with emotion, and designs with familiar observation, resulting in a body of work that celebrates the endurance, transformation, and natural beauty of uniquely Californian locations.
